Homie is a household scheduling app for families, provided by Homie.Family (“we”, “us”). These terms cover your use of the app and the service behind it. By creating an account or using Homie you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
The short version: your family’s data is yours; Homie is free on one phone; sharing a household with other people is a subscription the person who set the household up pays for, through the App Store; nothing Homie drafts is saved until you confirm it; and you can leave, cancel or delete your account at any time.
The Homie app is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add the rules for the Homie service — accounts, households, sync and subscriptions. Where the two differ on the service itself, these terms apply; Apple’s terms continue to govern the App Store and your purchase through it. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the Homie service or its support.
Travel times, traffic estimates and leave-time reminders are estimates based on third-party map and traffic data. They can be late, early or wrong, and a reminder can fail to arrive. Use your own judgement, especially for anything time-critical, and never rely on Homie where safety is at stake.
Everything your household puts into Homie — plans, routines, lists, places, notes — belongs to you. You give us permission to store, sync and process it only as needed to run Homie for you and your household. We don’t sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Don’t use Homie to break the law or to harm, harass or track anyone without their knowledge; don’t try to reach another household’s data, get around the daily limits or subscriptions, or overload or disrupt the service; and don’t copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service except where the law allows it.
You can sign out, leave a household, delete a household you set up and are the only account in, or delete your account from inside the app at any time. What deleting removes, and what stays with a household you shared, is set out in our privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
We work to keep Homie running and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or stop features over time. If we ever wind the service down, we’ll give reasonable notice and a way to take your household’s data with you.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as a missed appointment, a late arrival or lost time — arising from your use of Homie, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Homie in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that can’t be limited by agreement.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.
We’ll update this page when these terms change and adjust the date above. When a change is material, the app asks each adult account once, the next time it opens, to read the updated terms and agree to them before carrying on; we keep a note of that agreement, as the Privacy Policy describes. Children are never asked: the invite that brought them in is their parent’s or guardian’s consent. Continuing to use Homie after a change takes effect — including on a phone with no account, which is never asked — means you accept it.
